Patna. Assembly elections are due in Bihar this year. Earlier, the Election Commission is conducting special revision (SIR) of voters in Bihar. Now a big revelation has been revealed during this special revision. The media quoted sources as saying that during the special revision, the Election Commission has found a large number of foreign nationals who have voter cards, Aadhaar cards, ration cards and other documents. According to Election Commission sources, not only Nepal in Bihar, but intruders from Bangladesh and Myanmar have been found. The exercise to remove the names of all these foreigners from the voter list has been started. Foreign intruders will not be named in Bihar’s new voter list coming on 30 September.
Sources in the Election Commission have told the media that it will be ensured that not a single foreign intruder in Bihar could vote during the assembly elections. The Election Commission has shown in special revision that there is a large number of foreign intruders and in such a situation, the administration of all the districts of Bihar has been asked to identify the documents along with the identity of these people. Quoting sources in the Election Commission, the media has reported that foreign nationals have more infiltration in the districts of Seemanchal, the border of Bihar. Overall, due to the special revision work of voters by the Election Commission, a certain number of illegal intruders in Bihar is expected to be revealed. Till now, there has been only speculation that citizens of neighboring countries in Bihar have infiltrated on a large scale.
Special revision of voters will continue in Bihar till 25 July.
Several petitions were also filed in the Supreme Court against the special revision of the Election Commission. During the first hearing on these, the Supreme Court refused to stop the special revision of the Election Commission. The court asked the Election Commission to consider validing the voter ID card, Aadhaar card, ration card as well. Now, since foreign intruders have come to light of these three documents, in such a situation, there is a possibility of retaining the ban on presenting Aadhaar, voter ID and ration card from the Election Commission. It is believed that the Election Commission can give information about foreign intruders in Bihar in the next hearing in the Supreme Court on July 28.
