The Modi government is going to introduce the Waqf Amendment Bill in the Lok Sabha tomorrow i.e. on Wednesday, for this, all its MPs have been issued a whip of three lines on behalf of the BJP to be compulsorily present in the House on April 2 and to vote in favor of the government. On the other hand, according to media reports, the government has accepted the three amendments given by Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu’s Telugu Desam Party (TDP) regarding the Waqf Bill, after which the TDP will also vote in support of the Waqf Bill. At the same time, Nitish Kumar’s JDU will also support the Waqf Bill.
Earlier, JDU MP Lalan Singh had said that his party would clarify its stand in Parliament. But now that the JDU’s suggestions have also been accepted by the government, it has been decided that BJP’s allies will support the TDP and JDU Waqf Bill. Let us tell you that the intention of the government is to pass the Waqf Amendment Bill from the Lok Sabha tomorrow. However, the opposition is strongly opposing this bill. The opposition has also called a meeting in this regard today. Earlier today, the Waqf Amendment Bill was discussed in the meeting of the Working Committee (BAC) on the Waqf Amendment Bill under the chairmanship of Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla.

However, the opposition sought 12 hours of time to discuss the bill, while Om Birla said that there would be 8 hours of discussion after which the opposition boycotted the BAC meeting. On the other hand, BJP leader Nalin Kohli said that the opposition of the Waqf (Amendment) Bill presented by the Modi government is opposing for political reasons. However, the Waqf bill is being supported by the Muslim and Christian community as they want Waqf to be dealt with through a legal process.
