New Delhi: BJP leaders and Chief Ministers of NDA ruled states have welcomed the acceptance of the recommendations of the high level committee on ‘One Nation, One Election’ by the Union Cabinet. Union Home Minister Amit Shah called it a big step towards electoral reforms. He said that this reflects Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s will to strengthen democracy and accelerate economic development.

Today, in this direction, India has taken a big step towards historic electoral reforms and the Union Cabinet has accepted the recommendations of the high-level committee on ‘One Nation, One Election’.

On the other hand, BJP leader Manoj Tiwari said that there are many benefits of ‘one nation one election’. The biggest obstacle is the constant imposition of code of conduct from time to time. If you see the report of 5 years, then 2.5 years are spent in code of conduct. Then work cannot be done. To increase the pace of development of the country, elections should be held once and only work should be done for 5 years.
