New Delhi. BJP Rajya Sabha MP Lahar Singh Siroya has made serious allegations against Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge and others of his family, claiming that the Siddaramaiah government of Karnataka gave 19 acres of government land free of cost to Siddharth Vihar Trust run by Kharge’s family. Siroya has also uploaded documents related to these allegations on social media. The BJP MP says that new documents show that 19 acres of government land was given free of cost to the International Institute of Pali, Sanskrit and Comparative Philosophy in Gulbarga under the Siddharth Vihar Trust run by Mallikarjun Kharge’s family.

Lahar Singh said that the trustees of Siddharth Trust include Kharge’s wife, son-in-law and his two sons. The secretary of the Pali Institute is Radhakrishna who is Kharge’s son-in-law and the current MP from Gulbarga. Recently it was revealed that 5 acres of civic amenity land was given to Siddharth Vihar Trust in Aerospace Park near Bangalore. In March 2014, the Congress government of Karnataka led by Siddaramaiah leased 16 acres of government land to the Pali Institute for 30 years. In a few years, 3 acres of additional land was added to the 16-acre leased property. In this way, in March 2017, 19 acres of land was transferred free of cost by the Congress government led by Siddaramaiah to the institute run by the Kharge family. Another important fact is that Kharge’s son Priyank was a cabinet minister in the then Karnataka government.

The BJP MP demanded an independent agency to investigate the land transfer case. He also alleged that I was abused and personally targeted for pointing out the misuse of power and nepotism. The BJP MP said that if the Kharge family believes in the principles of Dr. Baba Saheb Ambedkar and Lord Gautam Siddhartha, they should themselves demand an investigation. Siroya said that another relevant question to ask in this context is whether the Siddaramaiah government was pressured by Kharge to give land to a private trust or the Karnataka government itself wanted to please Kharge.
Another pertinent question to ask in this context is, did the Shri Siddaramaiah government come under pressure from Shri Kharge to grant parcels of land to their private trust or was the Congress government in Karnataka trying to please Shri Kharge? 7/7@INCKarnataka
