BJP national spokesperson Pradeep Bhandari shared a copy of the order on social media, writing, under the leadership of Mamata Banerjee, the West Bengal government is giving priority to vote bank politics on fairness and constitutional principles. First, his government tried to change OBC reservation by arbitrarily incorporating Muslims by depriving OBC communities to proper benefits of reservation. Now, his close associate, Kolkata Mayor Firhad Hakim has ordered the cancellation of Vishwakarma Puja in schools of Kolkata Municipal Corporation. Instead, he has increased the holiday of Eid-ul-Fitr from one day to two days. Vishwakarma Puja has deep importance to Hindus, especially OBC communities.
The BJP spokesperson said, Mamata Banerjee knows that the Muslim vote bank on which she once trusted undeniably is slipping, even in Kolkata and its surrounding areas. Now there are reports that this step can be withdrawn. Even before, when asked about open appeasement, TMC has removed himself from the comments of Firhad Hakim. Let us tell you that now a cleanliness has been issued on this order Kolkata. It is reported that this was a wrong memorandum and this administrative error has been removed. A show cause notice has also been issued to the Chief Manager (Education).
