New Delhi. In the by-elections for 10 assembly seats of UP, BJP has decided to field its candidates on 9 seats. According to news channel Aaj Tak, BJP has also decided to give one seat to ally RLD. Whereas, she is not going to give any seat to Nishad Party. Last time, 5 out of these 10 seats were with Samajwadi Party. Whereas, BJP won 3 seats, RLD won 1 seat and Nishad Party won 1 seat.

By-elections are to be held in Ghaziabad, Karhal, Milkipur, Phulpur, Majhwan, Sisamau, Katehari, Kundarki, Meerapur and Manjhwa seats in UP. The news channel has quoted sources as saying that BJP will announce the names of its candidates for 9 of these seats by October 20. Akhilesh Yadav, president of BJP’s main opposition Samajwadi Party in UP, has already announced his candidates for 6 assembly seats. Samajwadi Party has decided that it will field Akhilesh Yadav’s cousin Tej Pratap Yadav from Karhal seat. At the same time, SP has made Ajit Prasad, son of MP Awadhesh Prasad, the candidate from Milkipur seat. Samajwadi Party has announced to give tickets to Mustafa Siddiqui from Phulpur, Dr. Jyoti Bind from Majhwan, Naseem Solanki from Sisamau, Shobhavati Verma from Katehri.

The by-elections of these 10 assembly seats of UP are very important for BJP and Samajwadi Party. Samajwadi Party had defeated BJP in UP in the Lok Sabha elections. BJP could win only 33 seats. Whereas, Samajwadi Party had captured 37 Lok Sabha seats. Samajwadi Party has been saying since then that the people of UP have now rejected BJP. At the same time, by winning all the 10 assembly seats in the by-elections, BJP will try to show that it has the blessings of the people of UP. In such a situation, the by-election contest between BJP and Samajwadi Party is expected to be very interesting. Especially BJP would like to get Milkipur seat of Ayodhya at any cost. The reason for this is that despite the construction of Ram temple, Awadhesh Prasad of Samajwadi Party had won the Faizabad-Ayodhya seat in the Lok Sabha elections. BJP had to face a lot of ridicule regarding this also.
