The Waqf Amendment Bill introduced by the Central Government has passed the Lok Sabha on Thursday. There was a lot of debate on this bill on Wednesday and midnight voting took place on Thursday. 288 votes were cast in favor of the bill and 232 votes in the opposition of the bill. With this, the Waqf Amendment Bill has been passed in the Lok Sabha. The ruling party is describing this bill as beneficial for minorities, while the opposition parties are strongly criticizing the bill. Amidst all this, now West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has also targeted the BJP. Mamta Banerjee has said that the BJP has introduced the Waqf (Amendment) Bill to divide the country.

West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee told reporters on Thursday- “When a new government is removed by removing the current government, we will bring a new amendment to neutralize this Waqf Bill brought by the BJP. BJP has brought this Waqf Bill to divide the country. ”

Earlier, CM Mamta Banerjee on Wednesday also accused the BJP of implementing the divisive agenda and criticized the party. Mamta had said- “My MPs are present in Delhi to speak on Waqf issue. The Jumla party has only one agenda – dividing the country. They divide and believe in rule. ”
