BJP’s Vijay Goel’s statement on the revised decision of the Supreme Court on stray dogs said, “The implementation of the decision is very difficult”

BJP's Vijay Goel's statement on the revised decision of the Supreme Court on stray dogs said, "The implementation of the decision is very difficult"

BJP leader Vijay Goel on Saturday expressed concern over the implementation of the Supreme Court’s instructions that stray dogs would be released after sterilization and vaccination, and their dedicated areas would be built for their food.

Talking to reporters here, the BJP leader expressed concern over the cases of “2000 dog bites” coming out every day and asked if the Supreme Court or the NGO fighting for stray dogs will take responsibility for them. Goyal said, “I welcome the order of the Supreme Court, but its implementation is very difficult in the country. There are more than 12 crore dogs in the country and more than 10 lakh dogs are in the country and there are more than 10 lakh dogs in Delhi alone. The dog should be sterilized and vaccinated … If the dogs bite, will it be responsible for the Supreme Court or the NGOs who used to say that these stray dogs should stay on the streets? … ”

Criticizing the order, Goyal said that the Supreme Court in its amended decision has given “more importance to stray dogs” than mankind. On Friday, the Supreme Court amended its order of August 11 on stray animals and ordered them to leave after sterilization and vaccination. The Supreme Court clarified that stray dogs with rabies -infected or aggressive behavior would not be released back and kept separate. “Stray dogs would be left back to the same area after sterilization and vaccination, except for dogs infected with rabies.”

The court ordered, “Stray dogs will be left back to the same area after sterilization and vaccination, except dogs with rabies -infected or aggressive behavior.

The court ordered that dogs would not be allowed to provide food in public and separate food sites will be made for stray dogs. The court ordered the MCD (Delhi Municipal Corporation) to build a dining area in the municipal wards. The court also said that animals can apply in MCD to adopt dogs.
