Accused of bomb blast in Deoband arrested.
There were bomb blasts in Deoband located in Saharanpur district of Uttar Pradesh in the month of August 1993. Now Nazir Ahmed Wani, the main accused of this bomb blast, has been arrested from Srinagar in Jammu and Kashmir after 31 years. A police officer has informed that the UP Anti-Terrorist Squad (ATS) and the police team, in a joint action, have arrested the accused in the Deoband bomb blasts on Sunday.
What is the story of the bomb blast?
According to the police, after the demolition of the disputed structure in Ayodhya in 1992, there were communal riots in different parts of the country. During this period, communal violence took place at many places in Deoband also. During this violence in August 1993, policemen were attacked with bombs in the city. Then Nazir Ahmed was arrested in this case. However, in 1994 the court granted him bail, after which he absconded. Let us tell you that four people including two policemen were injured in this bomb blast.
How was the accused caught?
According to the police, the accused in the Deoband blasts was dodging everyone for the last 31 years and was living here and there by changing his name and dress. ATS and police teams were busy searching for him. Nazir was not appearing in the court for the last 31 years, after which a permanent warrant was issued against him on May 20, 2024. Is the accused connected to Hizbul?
According to the information given by the police, Nazir Ahmed is said to be an active member of the terrorist organization Hizbul Mujahideen. A reward of Rs 25 thousand was also announced on him.
