New Delhi: The series of bomb threats on planes is not stopping. Due to the bomb threat, there was chaos at the airport today and the passengers also had to face trouble. Bomb threats were received on 10 different flights on Saturday. Of these, five flights are of IndiGo and five flights of Akasa Airlines.

According to the information, bomb threat was received in 6E108 Hyderabad-Chandigarh, 6E58 Jeddah-Mumbai, 6E17 Mumbai-Istanbul, 6E184 Jodhpur-Delhi, 6E11 Delhi-Istanbul flights. Till the latest information was received, an emergency landing was made in the Indigo flight going from Darbhanga to Mumbai after receiving a bomb threat. Since the flight was coming from Darbhanga to Mumbai, there was no alteration in it… The flight has reached its destination safely and Mumbai Police and Airport Security Department are doing their job as per all necessary protocols.

Till now, Mumbai Police had registered a total of 7 FIRs in different cases in bomb threat cases. In view of the continuous increase in such cases, the police said that their number may increase further. At present, the police is investigating where these threat calls came from in the plane. A case will be registered only on the basis of investigation. Immediately after the landing of the flight, necessary steps will be taken following all the protocols and keeping in mind the safety of the passengers.

Earlier, there had been a bomb threat in three international flights of the aviation company ‘Vistara’, which later turned out to be false. As a precaution, a plane was diverted to Frankfurt. The Air India Express flight coming from Dubai to Jaipur made an emergency landing at Jaipur airport late on Friday night after receiving a bomb threat. However, after investigation the threat turned out to be a “rumour”.

The Civil Aviation Ministry is planning to impose strict rules to prevent incidents of bomb threats on planes and include the culprits in the ‘no fly’ list. DGCA is considering amending the rules to ensure strict action against incidents involving bomb threats to airlines. Most of the threats have proved wrong. In this regard, the Ministry is considering amending the existing rules, including those relating to Bureau of Civil Aviation Security (BCAS), so as to ensure stringent punishment for the culprits. The official said a proposal to put people making false bomb blast threats on the airline’s ‘no-fly’ list is under consideration. He also said that legal opinion is being collected regarding making changes in the rules. The ministry is also examining the provisions being adopted in foreign countries to deal with fake bomb threats.
