Cold wave continues to wreak havoc after snowfall in Himachal Pradesh.
Seasonal snowfall has started in the hill states. Tourists from Kashmir to Himachal are enjoying the snowfall. The severity of winter has increased after snowfall in Himachal. The temperature has dropped significantly in the state and the Meteorological Department has predicted snowfall again in the coming days.
Lahaul-Spiti’s Tabo was the coldest place
The minimum temperature at most places in the state on Tuesday was recorded three to five degrees below normal while some areas also received light snowfall. Tabo in tribal district Lahaul-Spiti was the coldest place in Himachal Pradesh, where the minimum temperature was recorded at minus 12.7 degrees. The local meteorological center said that Khadrala, Koksar (Lahaul-Spiti) and Kalpa in Shimla received 2.0 cm, 0.5 cm and 0.2 cm snowfall respectively. It said that very light rain and snowfall occurred at some places in the state in the last 24 hours and the weather remained dry in most parts.
How will the weather be tomorrow?
The weather department said that barring light rain and snowfall on December 12, the weather will remain dry for the next seven days in Lahaul-Spiti, Chamba, Kullu, Kinnaur districts and higher reaches of Kangra.
Bus services disrupted on many routes in Upper Shimla
There is a possibility of ground frost at isolated places in the central and higher hilly areas of the state till December 12. On the other hand, last night there was snowfall again in Khirki, Kharapathar and other high mountain areas of Chaupal in Shimla district. Due to this, buses could not move to Chaupal on Tuesday morning. Traffic is also being affected by slippage on the Khadapathar road. Motorists have been advised to exercise caution while traveling on snowy roads.
