Budget Session 2025: President Draupadi Murmu counted the achievements of the government in the budget session, expressed grief over the Mahakumbh accident

New Delhi. The budget session of Parliament has started from today. The session began with the address of President Draupadi Murmu. He mourned the incident on Mauni Amavasya during Mahakumbh and paid tribute to former Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh. He then mentioned various schemes and achievements of the Government of India.

India’s development journey during Amrit period

Addressing the joint session of Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha, President Murmu said that India’s development journey is full of unprecedented achievements. He said that the government is giving top priority to women, farmers and youth. The government is constantly striving for women empowerment and “Woman Lead Development” is being promoted.

Extension of Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana

The President said in his address that it has been decided to give new houses to three crore additional families under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana. Apart from this, “Dharti Aba Tribal Village Utkarsh” campaign has been started for five crore people of tribal society. Under the Ayushman Bharat Scheme, it has been decided to give health insurance to six crore senior citizens above seventy years.

Extension of digital payment and banking facilities

The President said that India’s banking and digital payment facilities have now reached far-flung areas. More than 91 lakh self -help groups are being empowered under the National Rural Livelihood Mission. In addition, the government has decided to set up the Eighth Pay Commission, which will benefit the central employees.

Artificial Intelligence and Education Policy

The Government of India has launched ‘India AI Mission’, which will give the country a world -class identity in the field of Artificial Intelligence. Modern education system is being prepared for students under the National Education Policy.

Extension of PM Self -immolation and PM Suraj Yojana

Financial assistance is being given to small businessmen and street vendors across the country through PM Swanidhi Yojana. Along with this, the PM Suraj Yojana has been expanded to provide easy loans to the backward classes and cleaning workers of the society.

Railway line from Kashmir to Kanyakumari

The President said that the Udhampur-Srinagar-Baramulla rail link project has been completed, which will now make it possible to connect the railway line from Kashmir to Kanyakumari. In addition, the government is constantly working to strengthen cyber security and promote social justice and equality through digital technology.

Initiative for the development of North East

The President said that ‘Ashtalakshmi Mahotsav’ was organized to highlight the possibilities of eight states of North East. A special national mission has been started to overcome the health problems of the tribal community.

Improvement in agriculture and new schemes for farmers

The President said that the government is trying to increase the income of farmers and ensure a fair price for crops. Cereal production in the country has reached 332 million tonnes. The MSP of crops has been increased and farmers have been provided 109 advanced species. The National Mission has also been started to promote natural farming.

Schemes for Dalit, disadvantaged and tribal society

The President said that Dalit, deprived and tribal society is getting the most benefit of the government’s schemes. More than 770 Eklavya schools have been opened, where tribal children are being educated. Along with this, 30 new medical colleges have been established in tribal areas.
