New Delhi. The murder case of journalist Mukesh Chandrakar in Bijapur, Chhattisgarh is now gaining momentum. On one hand, journalists are angry over the murder of their colleague, due to which a large number of journalists took to the streets of Bijapur and demonstrated demanding strict action against the culprits. On the other hand, the administration took action and reached the site of contractor Suresh Chandrakar, accused of murdering the journalist, and got the bulldozer started. Suresh Chandrakar had constructed his site illegally on Forest Department land, which was demolished. During this time a large number of police were also present there.

The administration team reached the site of accused contractor Suresh Chandrakar located on Gangalur Road near 85 Battalion in Bijapur and carried out bulldozer action here. During this time, the administration team also got luxury goods from the site. Expensive furniture was kept in the contractor’s field laboratory. Many machines were found gathering dust there, which clearly exposed corruption. Let us tell you that journalist Mukesh Chandrakar had exposed the alleged irregularities in the road construction project through his report. He used to do field reporting for NDTV in Naxal affected Bastar region. Mukesh Chandrakan had also created a YouTube channel in Bastar by the name of ‘Bastar Junction’.

Journalist Mukesh Chandrakar had gone missing after the news of irregularities against road contractor Suresh Chandrakar was published. It is being told that Ritesh Chandrakar, brother of contractor Suresh Chandrakar, had called him to meet on January 1, after which his phone got switched off. Yesterday i.e. on January 3, police found the body of journalist Mukesh Chandrakar in a septic tank built at a site owned by contractor Suresh Chandrakar. In this case, police have arrested contractor Suresh Chandrakar, his brother Ritesh and four other people.
