New Delhi. A major road accident has taken place in Badman district of Jammu and Kashmir. A bus on election duty in the Brail Waterheel area here slipped off the road, fell into a ditch and overturned. 3 Border Security Force (BSF) jawans travelling in the bus lost their lives and 32 others were injured. 6 of the injured jawans have suffered serious injuries. A total of 35 BSF jawans were travelling in this bus. All of them were going for election duty. At present, rescue and relief operations are underway.

Medical teams are also present on the spot for immediate treatment of the injured. After first aid, the injured soldiers are being sent to Khansahib and Budgam hospitals for treatment. At present, the cause of the accident is not known. The local administration and BSF officials are investigating the cause of the accident. The bus has been badly damaged. This bus carrying BSF soldiers was going from Pulwama in South Kashmir to Budgam for the second phase of assembly elections to be held on September 25, when this accident happened in the Brail Waterhole area. As soon as the bus fell into the ditch, local people gathered there after hearing the sound. They informed the police.
