Search continues for missing businessman Mumtaz Ali
Mangaluru: Karnataka businessman Mumtaz Ali is missing since this morning. According to police, his car was found near Kulur bridge. Mumtaz Ali is the brother of JDS MLC BM Farooq and former Congress MLA Mohiuddin Bawa. His age is said to be 52 years.
Mangaluru Police Commissioner Anupam Aggarwal said that early today morning we received information that the car of businessman Mumtaz Ali was found near Kulur bridge. He may have jumped from the bridge. Local police reached the spot and started investigating the matter.
According to initial investigation, at around 3 o’clock he left home in his car and roamed around the city and at around 5 o’clock he stopped his car near Kulur bridge. There were some accident marks on the car and after that his daughter informed the local police. Investigation of the matter is ongoing. SDRF and Coast Guard teams are searching the river and trying to find out whether he jumped into the river. Or there is some other reason for his disappearance.
