The Election Commission of India announced a by -election in five assembly seats in four states on Sunday and said that voting will be held on June 19. Explain that by -elections are to be held in Gujarat, West Bengal, Kerala and Punjab.
According to the officials of the Election Commission of India, the date of June 23 has been fixed for the counting of votes.

The by -election on the Kadhi seat in Gujarat became necessary due to the death of MLA Karsanbhai Punzabhai Solanki. Another by -election in the Visavadar seat in the state is being held due to the resignation of current member Bhayani Bhupendrabhai Gandubhai.
The by -election will be held in the Nilambur seat in Kerala as PV Anwar has resigned, while the by -election will be held due to the death of current member Gurpreet Bassi Gogi in Ludhiana seat in Punjab.
The by -election for the Kaliganj assembly seat in West Bengal has become necessary due to the death of current assembly member Naseeruddin Ahmed.
