CAG Reports Case In Delhi High Court: Delhi's Aam Aadmi Party government is not presenting 12 CAG reports in the Assembly, hearing on the petition of BJP MLAs in Delhi High Court today - News Room Post

New Delhi. Today is an important day in Delhi politics. The Aam Aadmi Party government of Delhi has not yet presented 12 CAG reports in the Assembly. Against this, BJP MLAs Vijendra Gupta, Mohan Singh Bisht, Om Prakash Sharma, Abhay Verma, Ajay Kumar Mahawar, Jitendra Mahajan and Anil Kumar Vajpayee have filed a petition in the Delhi High Court. This petition will be heard today in Delhi High Court. In the petition, an appeal has been made to direct the Delhi Government to send these CAG reports to the Lieutenant Governor. So that it can be presented in the Assembly. If the Delhi High Court orders to present these reports in the Assembly, then the politics of Delhi may heat up again.

This petition of BJP MLAs has been filed by lawyers Satya Ranjan Swain and Neeraj. The petition states that CM Atishi has 12 CAG reports from 2017-2018 to 2021-2022. The petition states that the Lieutenant Governor repeatedly requested that this CAG report be sent to him so that it can be placed in the Assembly. These CAG reports are related to finance, liquor duty and pollution. Delhi CM Atishi also holds the finance department. The petition of BJP MLAs will be heard by the bench of Delhi High Court Chief Justice Manmohan and Justice Tushar Rao Gedela.

In the petition filed on non-presentation of CAG report, it has been said that BJP MLAs had also talked to Delhi CM, Chief Secretary and Assembly Speaker in this regard, but still no action was taken. The petition states that deliberate suppression of important information is a violation of democratic principles. It also prevents scrutiny of expenditure and proper scrutiny of government proceedings. The petition states that due to non-presentation of the CAG report in the Assembly, serious questions are being raised on the accountability, transparency and financial ownership of the government. Let us tell you that all the expenses of the government are audited by CAG and it is necessary to table its report in the Assembly and Parliament.
