In this case, India’s High Commissioner Sanjay Verma and 5 other diplomats were also declared persons of interest by Canada. That means Canada wanted to interrogate him in the murder of Nijjar. In protest against which India had recalled all the diplomats and also expelled 6 diplomats including the Acting High Commissioner of Canada based in Delhi. On the other hand, this issue has gained momentum in Canada also. Justin Trudeau’s Liberal Party MPs themselves want him to step down from the post of PM. Canadian opposition parties have also cornered Justin Trudeau on the issue of spoiling relations with India.
