According to the information, a person who came from Dubai has been found infected with the virus in the investigation. Officials have given this information on Thursday. He has told that a 40 year old man who came from Dubai has been found infected with monkey pox in the investigation. And it is told that this is the first case of monkeypox in Karnataka this year.
The man was in Dubai for 19 years
Karnataka Health Department has informed that monkeypox has been confirmed in a 40-year-old male from Karkala area of Udupi district by the National Institute of Virology (NIV), Pune on January 22. According to the information, the person was living in Dubai for the last 19 years and had come to Mangaluru, Karnataka on January 17.
Symptoms of rashes and fever were seen
According to the Health Department of Karnataka, when the man returned from Dubai, he showed symptoms of rashes. He had also had fever two days before this. After this the person was immediately kept in isolation in a private hospital. After this, the person’s sample was taken and sent to Bangalore Medical College and then to NIV, Pune.
How is the person’s condition now?
According to the Health Department, the condition of the person infected with monkeypox is stable and he can be discharged from the hospital soon. The health department has advised people that the infectiousness of monkeypox is very low. One should not be afraid to give information about such a matter. Keep an eye on the common symptoms associated with the disease such as fever, headache, muscle pain, chills, sweating, sore throat and cough along with skin rashes etc. and get tested.
