New Delhi. The Modi government has decided to conduct caste census. The proposal was approved in the meeting of the Cabinet Committee on Political Affairs i.e. CCPA on Wednesday under the chairmanship of PM Narendra Modi. Giving information about this important decision, Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnav said that while Manmohan Singh was PM, the Central Government had formed a high -level committee of ministers regarding caste census. Ashwini Vaishnav said that the Congress never counted caste in the census since 1947. The Union Minister said that the Congress has always spread confusion on caste census. At the same time, Congress national spokesperson Udit Raj said that this is the victory of the Congress.

Ashwini Vaishnav said that many political parties raise the issue of caste census for their benefit. He said that conducting the census is the right of the Center under the Constitution. Nevertheless, many states have calculated caste. Ashwini Vaishnav said that many of these caste calculations also have disturbances. He said that there should not be politics on the issue of caste and castes can get real benefits, so the cabinet committee of political affairs has also decided to count caste in the next census.

In fact, the issue of caste census has been hot since the time of Lok Sabha elections held in 2024. Many opposition parties including the Congress and Akhilesh Yadav’s Samajwadi Party surrounded the BJP by raising the slogan of its participation, as much as the participation of which. Congress MP and Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi has also raised the issue in the House. First of all, Bihar did the work of caste census. After which the Nitish Kumar government increased the reservation, but the court was banned. Recently, the Congress government of Telangana decided to increase reservation by census caste. At the same time, caste calculations were already done in Karnataka. Siddaramaiah’s Congress government was supposed to decide to implement its report on April 17, but due to the controversy over the data, no decision has been taken on it.
