CBI will have to take permission for investigation in Karnataka: Now in Karnataka, CBI will not be able to investigate any case without the permission of the state government

New Delhi. Amid the controversy over the Muda land scam in Karnataka, the Congress government of the state has taken a big decision. The Siddaramaiah cabinet has withdrawn the previous notification giving the CBI the right to investigate in the state without permission. This means that now the CBI will not be able to investigate any case in Karnataka without the permission of the state government. It is believed that the government has taken this decision after the names of Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and his family members came up in the Muda land scam. The Karnataka High Court has rejected Siddaramaiah’s petition a day ago and ordered an investigation against him and his family.

Karnataka minister H.K. Patil says, we have decided to withdraw the permission given to CBI for investigation of any case. The notification giving general consent to CBI for investigation of criminal cases in Karnataka under Delhi Special Police Establishment Act, 1946 has been withdrawn. On the question of this decision regarding the case related to Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, the minister said that the court has ordered Lokayukta investigation against CM and his family, so the question does not arise that this decision has been taken in view of the Muda case. Patil accused the central government and said that CBI is being misused, our government has taken this decision to stop this.

On the other hand, the state’s Deputy Chief Minister D.K. Shivkumar said, not only Karnataka, but all the opposition parties across the country have taken this decision, in view of which the Karnataka government has also taken this decision. We do not want the CBI to misuse its power. On the other hand, Congress MLA Dr. Ranganath said that this decision of the Karnataka government is a welcome step. CBI, IT and ED have become the agencies of the BJP, so I think this is a right decision.
