New Delhi: CBI has taken raids at a total of 11 places in Delhi-NCR and Haryana, taking major action in the crypto fraud case. During this time the CBI recovered other materials including cash, US dollars and gold.
Rs 1.08 crore cash recovered
According to the information, he raided 11 places in Delhi and Haryana against alleged cyber criminals on charges of cheating people by calling himself a government official and seized a cash amount of Rs 1.08 crore during this period.
Officials said raids were conducted in nine places in Delhi and two places in Hisar, Haryana in a two -year -old case. A CBI spokesperson said that the accused were accused of illegal activities and crypto fraud by calling themselves government officials.
Fraud by giving fake technical assistance consultation
The spokesman said in a statement, “People were cheated by giving fake technical assistance counseling and motivating them to transfer money as cryptocurrency. This money was then sent to cash by sending several crypto wallets. ”The agency has already filed a charge sheet against three accused in the case.
The CBI collected important digital evidences during the raid and seized six laptops, eight mobile phones and an iPad. The investigation also revealed the use of computer programs to make VOIP-based calls and reach ‘Darknet’. Additionally, the CBI seized Rs 1.08 crore cash, foreign currency worth US $ 1,000 and 252 grams of gold.
