New Delhi. The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has given a big gift to the students and approved the board examination twice a year. This step has been taken with the aim of reducing the pressure on students and more marks on students. This will benefit those students whose numbers are less in the 10th class board examination. Confirming this, CBSE Controller of Examinations, Sanyam Bhardwaj, has said that this decision will be applicable from 2026. The first time the exam will be held in February and again in May.
In this, it is necessary that all students will have to be involved in the first examination. After this the second exam will be optional. Meaning if a student is not satisfied with his numbers, then he can take the exam for the second time. There will be no compulsion for the student to take the exam again or not. In this, the examination in which the student’s numbers will be high will be consumed. In this way, students will get a chance to improve their performance without wasting year. This will also reduce mental pressure on students. However, the board has also clarified that the internal assessment of the examination will be only once, even if a student exam is given both times.
It is expected that the first phase of the 10th board examination will start from 17 February 2026. The examinations will run till 7 March 2026, after which the result will probably be released on 20 April 2026. Similarly, the second phase examination will start on 5 May 2026 which will run till 20 May 2026. The result (potential) of this examination will be declared by 30 June 2026. The entire syllabus of the syllabus will be included for both examinations.
