CBSE Will Conduct 10th Board Exam Twice A Year: How will CBSE get 10th board exam twice a year, what will be the rules for students?

New Delhi. CBSE has decided to conduct the 10th class board examination twice a year. This step has been taken by CBSE with the aim of giving more than one opportunity of examination without reducing the tension of the students dominating the students and disrespecting them for better performance. The next year in 2026, the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) will implement this pattern. How will CBSE conduct the board examination twice a year, what will be the rules for the students, tell you in detail about it.

As per the recommendations of the national education policy 2020, students will have an opportunity to improve their performance in board examines.

A meeting chaired by hon’ble minister of education discusated:

According to CBSE, every student will get a chance to sit in the examinations in the year. The first exam will run from 17 February to 6 March 2026, while the second phase of the examination will be held from May 5 to May 2026. If a student wants to appear in one exam, then he can choose the first or second phase of the exam according to his choice. On the other hand, if the student’s numbers in a subject are less in the first examination, then he can also give the exam of the same subject in the second stage examination. This will improve its digits. If a student wants to take both exams, then the exam in which his numbers will be more, will be given priority in the result. However, for giving both exams, students will have to pay separate registration and different exam fees.

One thing to keep in mind for the students will be that the subjects whose examination is given for the first time, only those subjects will get an opportunity to give the exam for the second time. Meaning if a student wants that for the first time he has given the exam for the second time, then it will not happen. On the other hand, if a student only takes a second exam and he gets low numbers in any subject, then he will not get any chance again because the facility of supplementary exam is being abolished.
