Centre Strict On Manipur Violence: मणिपुर में हिंसा रोकने के लिए कड़ी कार्रवाई की तैयारी में केंद्र सरकार, अमित शाह रैलियां रद्द कर दिल्ली आए; सीआरपीएफ के डीजी को राज्य भेजा गया

New Delhi/Imphal. The central government is preparing to adopt a strict attitude to stop the violence that broke out after the killing of women and children of Hindu Meitei community at the hands of Kuki militants in Manipur. Home Minister Amit Shah has sent CRPF DG Anish Dayal to Manipur. At the same time, Amit Shah has canceled the rallies in Vidarbha region of Maharashtra and has come to Delhi. In Manipur, Kuki militants had abducted three women and three children of the Hindu Meitei community from Jiribam on November 11. On Friday and Saturday, their bodies were found in Jirimukh and Barak rivers. On getting information about the murders, people resorted to violence and appealed to CM N. Biren Singh’s son-in-law’s house was burnt. Also attacked the houses of 2 more ministers and 6 MLAs.

After incidents of violence in Imphal East and West, Bishnupur and many other districts of Manipur, Army and Central forces were deployed and currently curfew has been imposed in all these districts by shutting down mobile internet. Besides, security forces are patrolling all the violence affected areas. Now according to the information, the Central Government has prepared to take strict steps to completely stop the violence. A period of violence is going on in Manipur since May 2023. The violence stops intermittently, but then flares up due to conflict between the Kuki and Meitei communities. This time people have been enraged by the killing of people from Meitei community.

The central government had again imposed the AFSPA law in 6 police station areas of Manipur after the Kuki militants attacked the CRPF camp in Jiribam on November 11 and abducted 6 people. Manipur Cabinet requested the Central Government to remove the AFSPA law, but considering the current situation, this does not seem possible. Violence started in Manipur after a decision of the High Court there. The Manipur High Court had directed the state government to consider reservation by giving tribal status to the Meitei community. This was opposed by the Kuki community and after that conflict started between the two sides. Let us tell you that the Meitei community believes in Hindu religion and they have villages in the plains of Manipur. Whereas, the Kuki community follows Christianity and these people live in the hilly areas of Manipur.
