Union Minister Muralidhar Mohol said on Tuesday that a high -level committee set up by the Center to investigate the Air India aircraft accident in Ahmedabad will submit its report within three months.
Told reporters that Air India 34 Boeing-787 operates Dreamliner aircraft, out of which 12 have been screened and no problem has been found so far. He also hoped that the analysis of the aircraft’s black box data would provide clues about the causes of the accident.
The Boeing 787 Dreamliner Aircraft (AI 171) crashed on June 12 in the premises of a medical college after a few moments of flying from Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport in Ahmedabad. It had 230 passengers and 12 members of the aircraft personnel.
One person on the plane survived the accident, while the remaining 241 people died. 29 other people died in the accident in the campus.
The Center on Saturday formed a high -level committee to detect the ‘root cause’ of the plane crash and assess any factor, including mechanical failure, human mistake and regulatory compliance.
The Civil Aviation Ministry had said that the committee headed by Union Home Secretary Govind Mohan would not be an alternative to other investigations being conducted by the concerned institutions. When asked about the investigation status, Mohol said, “Investigation is going on and many small information will be investigated. Many things will be revealed after downloading ‘Black Box’. A committee headed by the Union Home Secretary has been appointed to investigate the case. The report will be submitted within three months. ”
Black box of crashed aircraft – which includes flight data recorders and cockpit voice recorders – has already been recovered and important clues to understand what the cause of the accident was.
Mohol said, “Air India operates a total of 34 Dreamliner aircraft. All 34 aircraft have been ordered to inspect and investigate. Of them, 10 to 12 aircraft have been inspected so far and no problem has been found in them yet.
The minister also said that hospital officials in Ahmedabad have collected 270 DNA samples and 70 to 80 bodies have been handed over to their relatives.
Investigation agencies are investigating all possible causes of the accident, including lack of thrust in both engines of the aircraft, collision of several birds, or potential ‘wing flap’ problems.
Sources said on Monday that the High Level Committee headed by Union Home Secretary Govind Mohan in its first meeting in Delhi discussed various possibilities responsible for the Ahmedabad accident.
