In the notice sent by the Union Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, it has been said that complaints have been received according to which much of the information provided by Wikipedia is one-sided, biased and misleading. Not only this, the Center has also asked Wikipedia why it should not be considered a publisher instead of an arbitrator? Let us tell you that Wikipedia is known as an online encyclopedia. It contains information related to a particular person or important place etc.

The special thing about Wikipedia is that by going to any page, the information given in it can be edited or if some new information needs to be added to it, it can be added. Wikipedia was started in January 2001. Today Wikipedia is a very popular name among internet users. So far, more than 62 million articles have been published on Wikipedia in more than 300 languages. Any person can change any information written on Wikipedia, hence every information given on Wikipedia is not considered completely correct.

There has been controversy before regarding the misleading information given in Wikipedia. News agency ANI had filed a petition against Wikipedia in the Delhi High Court. ANI had alleged in its petition that some defamatory information regarding ANI has been uploaded on Wikipedia. ANI had requested the High Court to immediately delete this type of information. During the hearing of this case, Delhi High Court had also warned Wikipedia. Now the Union Ministry of Information and Broadcasting has issued a notice to Wikipedia seeking its reply.
