In Chamoli, Uttarakhand, 14 more laborers have been taken out of avalanche. A total of 55 workers went missing in the snow in this accident. Out of these, 47 laborers have been rescued. Eight laborers are still stranded in snow. The rescue operation is still going on and the remaining laborers are being searched. Officials said that rescuers have taken out 14 more laborers from the snow at the BRO camp in the height Mana village of Chamoli district of Uttarakhand. A search operation was resumed at the avalanche site on Saturday. Eight laborers are still stranded.

Along with evacuation of 14 laborers, on Friday morning, 47 have been rescued by 47 out of 55 laborers trapped in an avalanche on the Border Roads Organization (BRO) camp between Badrinath. By Friday night, 33 were rescued. On Friday, the rescue work was interrupted due to rain and snowfall and the campaign was postponed due to night. On Saturday, the helicopter was involved in the campaign when the weather was clear.

Workers trapped for more than 24 hours

District Disaster Management Officer NK Joshi said that the Army and Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) personnel posted in Mana started rescue operations in the morning. According to officials, the rescue team took 14 more laborers out of the snow, while the search for the remaining eight is on, which has been stranded for more than 24 hours. Chamoli District Magistrate Sandeep Tiwari said that on Friday, three laborers rescued in critical condition were airlifted for treatment at ITBP Hospital in Mana Mana, who were taken to Jyotirmath Army Hospital. “We hope the rescue operation will accelerate due to the clear weather,” he said.

Chief Minister can visit Chamoli

Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami is also likely to visit the avalanche site. According to the list released by Uttarakhand State Disaster Management Authority, stranded workers belong to other states including Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh, Punjab and Jammu and Kashmir. There are 10 laborers’ names in the list, but their states have not been named. Disaster Management Secretary Vinod Kumar Suman said on Friday that more than 65 personnel are engaged in the rescue operation. Mana is the last village on the Indo-Tibet border, located at an altitude of 3,200 meters, three kilometers from Badrinath.
