Two miscreants allegedly involved in the Chandan Mishra murder case were injured in an encounter with Bihar Special Task Force (STF) and Bhojpur police on Tuesday.
The miscreants have been identified as Balwant Kumar Singh and Ravi Ranjan Kumar Singh. He has been arrested by the Bihar Police and is currently undergoing treatment in a hospital. It is being told that he has accepted his involvement in the murder case. Police seized two pistols and a magazine.
Earlier on Sunday, SSP Karthikeya of Patna said that all four accused were arrested in Kolkata in connection with the murder of Chandan Mishra in a hospital in Patna. He told that the other four are still absconding.
Unidentified assailants shot a prisoner Chandan Mishra, who was admitted to a hospital in Patna for treatment on 17 July.
SSP Karthikeya’s Sharma said, “On July 17, Chandan Mishra was shot dead in the hospital. After committing the incident, the shooters fled to different places. Starting the investigation, Patna police raided several places and questioned many people. Chief shooter Tausif was arrested in Kolkata.”
He said, “Kolkata Police and Kolkata STF gave us very commendable support and due to the same cooperation, Tausif was arrested in Kolkata. Along with Tausif, 3 other people who had a role in this conspiracy … There are cases of NDPS, Arms Act and attempt to murder at first. Has been arrested in Kolkata.
He added, “The other four are still absconding and will be arrested soon. The investigation is on.”
The prisoner, Chandan Mishra, was out on parole on the basis of necessary medical care and was admitted to Paras Hospital for treatment, when unknown assailants entered the hospital and shot him.
Chandan Mishra was a notorious criminal and there were dozens of murder cases against him. Police believe that the rival gang has carried out the firing.
