Online registrations for Chardham Yatra in Uttarakhand and Hemkund Sahib started on Thursday. Officials said that devotees wishing to visit the Himalayan temples of Badrinath, Kedarnath, Gangotri and Yamunotri and Hemkund Sahib can now register by visiting the website of Uttarakhand Tourism Development Council (registrationandtouristcare.uk.gov.in). Chardham Yatra will begin on 30 April with the opening of the doors of Gangotri and Yamunotri temples in Uttarkashi district.

Kedarnath in Rudraprayag district will be opened to devotees on 2 May, while Badrinath will be opened for devotees on May 4 and Hemkund Sahib in Chamoli district on 25 May.

How to apply?

Method of online application

Go to the website of Uttarakhand Tourism Department https://traveltrade.uttarakhandtourism.gov.in/signup. Sign up by filling the necessary information like your name, address, mobile number. If you have registered for Chardham Yatra before, then you can login to the mobile number by asking for OTP or password. After login, apply for registration for Chardham Yatra. With this, your application will be completed. You can also do resustation through WhatsApp. For this, you have to send ‘Yatra’ on +91 8394833833. After this, you can complete the registration by following the instructions given. Tourists can also register through Uttarakhand app.

Offline application method

Offline registration can be done at passenger registration offices and transit camps in Haridwar and Rishikesh. For this, you have to go to the respective office and complete the registration process.

Dharmacharya Vedas fixed the date

On the auspicious occasion of Mahashivaratri, after traditionally offered prayers at the Omkareshwar temple of Ukhimath, the winter throne of Baba Kedar, the Dharmacharya Vedas calculated the Panchagas and took out the Muhurta to open the doors of the Kedarnath temple. The Omkareshwar temple was decorated with flowers for this traditional worship. Rawal Bhimashankar Linga, the chief priest of Kedarnath temple, Asha Nautiyal of Kedarnath Temple, Asha Nautiyal, temple committee officials and religious officials were also present in the event. The opening date of Kedarnath’s gate was revealed on 26 February.

The doors of Kedarnath Temple, one of the Dwadash Jyotirlingas, will be opened in Gemini and Taurus ascendant at seven in the morning to visit the devotees, while the doors of Badrinath Dham will be opened on May 4.
