The Supreme Court has granted interim bail to the suspended IAS officer Ranu Sahu, Soumya Chaurasia and businessman Suryakant Tiwari suspended in the Chhattisgarh coal scam case. The Supreme Court said that the investigation in the case will take a long time, so keeping the time -taking process in mind, it is appropriate to release the petitioners on interim bail.
The Supreme Court said that if it is found to be involved in affecting a witness, tampering with evidence or obstructing the investigation, the state government may knock the court to cancel the interim bail and the interim bail will be canceled in that case. Explain that all these high profile accused have got interim bail in the trial filed by the Anti Corruption Branch.

The Supreme Court bench said that the investigation will take time and during this time, the accused are being granted interim bail while avoiding any hasty. This bail has been given on the condition that even after getting bail, the accused should maintain proper conduct and follow the court orders. At the same time, the Supreme Court has also directed that the government should submit a report on the conduct of the petitioners in the case to maintain transparency in the investigation of the case.
The decision was pronounced by a bench of Justice Suryakant and Justice N. Kotishwar Singh. Justice Suryakanth said in his order, “We are not in any hasty or intend to intervene in the investigation, but we only want to ensure that the accused follow their bail terms and cooperate in a fair investigation.”
