New Delhi. The Bilaspur NIA court has granted bail to Kerala’s nun Preeti Mary, Vandana Francis and another accused Sukman Mandavi in the alleged conversion and human trafficking case. The court granted bail to the accused on the condition of getting a bond of Rs 50,000 and submitting their passports. Earlier, the court reserved the verdict on Friday after hearing the arguments of both sides. Both the nuns of Kerala and another person along with them were arrested on 25 July from Durg railway station in Chhattisgarh. A Bajrang Dal worker filed a complaint against him alleging conversion and human trafficking.

On being granted bail to both the nuns, Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnudev Sai said, this is a legal process and he has been granted bail in it. At the same time, state Congress in -charge Sharita Latflang expressed happiness over the court’s decision, saying, God has heard us and the court has given justice. We will continue the legal process even further. I have just met my tribal younger brother, who has also got bail. We hope that such incidents do not happen again.
