Months ahead of Delhi elections, AAP supremo Arvind Kejriwal on Friday said registrations will soon begin under the ‘Mukhyamantri Mahila Samman Yojana’ to give Rs 1,000 monthly honorarium to women in the national capital.
Talking about the scheme during Aam Aadmi Party’s (AAP) padyatra campaign in Burari in north-east Delhi, Kejriwal said the applicant woman should be a registered voter of the national capital.
In its budget for FY 2024-25 presented in March, the AAP government announced ‘Mukhyamantri Mahila Samman Yojana’, which will provide Rs 1,000 per month to every eligible woman above 18 years of age with an outlay of Rs 2,000 crore. Has been promised to provide.

The registration process for the scheme will start very soon,” Kejriwal told the women gathered for the padyatra. “There is only one condition. The applicant must be a registered voter in Delhi. Attacking the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), the former Delhi Chief Minister said it has governments in 22 states, yet it is unable to provide free and uninterrupted electricity, good schools or quality healthcare to the people in any of them. He asked people to call their relatives in Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Madhya Pradesh and other BJP-ruled states to know the electricity rates there. Trying to corner BJP on this issue, Kejriwal said that what the opposition party is calling “free rewari” is nothing but free facilities being given to the people with their own tax money. He described the honorarium of Rs 1,000 given to women as the seventh “rewari”, adding to existing facilities that include free electricity, water, bus rides for women, pilgrimage for the elderly, healthcare and education.
