New Delhi. A violent clash broke out today between leaders and workers of Congress and Aam Aadmi Party over filling nomination papers for Panchayat elections in Firozpur district of Punjab. Congress and AAP workers pelted stones at each other in Zira town of Firozpur. Not only this, news of firing is also coming. In view of the situation, police have been called from many other police stations also. A large number of Congress and Aam Aadmi Party workers have gathered outside the nomination venue. At the same time, there is also news of many people getting injured in this violent clash.

Former Congress MLA and District President Kulbir Singh Zira has also been injured in this clash. A photo of him has surfaced in which an injury is visible on his face due to which blood is also flowing. The police is trying to handle the situation. There is also news that the police had to open firing in the air to disperse the people. Many vehicles were also damaged in stone pelting by Congress and Aam Aadmi Party workers. Glass has been broken from many cars.

Congress accused the administration of colluding with AAP leaders. Congress leader and Lok Sabha MP from Ludhiana alleged that NOC of Sarpanch and Panch and other documents are not being provided to Congress candidates deliberately. Let us tell you that votes will be cast for a total of 13,237 gram panchayats in Punjab on 15 October 2024. The election notification has been issued on 27th September. At present the process of nomination of candidates is going on. October 4 is the last date for filing nomination papers. After the voting ends on October 15, the results will be declared after counting the votes.
