Cleanliness Survey: Indore 8th consecutive time number 1

Indore topped the eighth consecutive time in the Central Government’s annual cleanliness survey, while Surat and Navi Mumbai stood second and third positions respectively. Earlier, Indore of Madhya Pradesh has won the title of becoming the cleanest city in the country seven times in a row. This time Indore was included in the Super League of the Cleanliness Survey 2024-25. The Super League included only 23 cities, which have finished first, second or third in the surveys so far. Indore has also won the Super League 2024-25.

The results of the survey were declared on Thursday. President Draupadi Murmu presented the Swachh Survekshan 2024-25 Awards at a function organized by the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs (MOHUA) at Vigyan Bhawan, National Capital. Union Housing and Urban Affairs Minister Manohar Lal and others attended the event.

According to the government, the purpose of the ‘Swachh Survekshan’ mission is to encourage large scale civil participation. Along with this, efforts are made to make the towns and cities aware of working together to live a better place to live between all sections of the society. Entering into the ninth year, the Clean Survey evaluated cleanliness, waste management and service distribution. It covered more than 4,500 cities using 10 parameters and 54 indicators.
