Rain alert in many states of the country
Monsoon is expected to gain momentum again in Himachal Pradesh from tomorrow i.e. 18th September. On 18th September, warning of rain with thunder and lightning has been issued in 6 districts. Regarding this, yellow alert has been issued in six districts Shimla, Sirmour, Solan, Kangra, Kullu and Mandi. The Meteorological Department has said that there is a possibility of light rain in the state till 22nd September. During the last 24 hours, Bilaspur received the highest rainfall of 100 mm. Apart from this, 35 mm rainfall was recorded in Kufri, 28 mm in Kasauli, 27 mm in Neri, 24 mm each in Gohar and Karsog and 23 mm in Bijahi.
Rain alert issued for the next two days
The weather department has issued a yellow alert for light to moderate rain with thunderstorms for September 18 (Wednesday) in Delhi. Strong surface winds of 25-35 kmph are also forecast on Wednesday. Earlier last week, the IMD had predicted light to moderate rain in parts of west and central India next week. Delhi is likely to receive rain for the next two days.
It will rain in these states
According to an IMD release, Konkan and Goa are likely to receive fairly widespread to widespread light to moderate rainfall, Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh are likely to receive light to moderate rainfall at a few places, and isolated light to moderate rainfall is also likely over the state. Rainfall is also likely over Vidarbha, Madhya Maharashtra, Marathwada and Gujarat during the week. Isolated extremely heavy rainfall is also likely over West Madhya Pradesh on September 18, the IMD said.
The India Meteorological Department said on September 14 that a deep depression lay over Gangetic West Bengal and adjoining Bangladesh. According to an IMD release, very heavy rainfall is likely over Assam and Meghalaya during September 18 to 20.
