In Uttar Pradesh’s Meerut district, 10 people have died in accidents caused by excessive rain during the last 24 hours. So far, 14 people have died in the state due to rain in the last 24 hours. According to the report released on Sunday from the Relief Commissioner’s Office, 10 people died due to ‘excessive rain’ in Meerut district in the last 24 hours. According to the report, Ganga river is flowing above the danger mark at Kachla Bridge (Badaun), Yamuna at Auraiya, Kalpi, Jalaun, Hamirpur, Sharda river at Paliakalan and Sharda Nagar (Lakhimpur Kheri), Ghaghra river at Elgin Bridge (Barabanki) and Ayodhya. Additional District Magistrate Finance and Revenue Vinay Kumar Singh said that the help of boats is being taken to evacuate the flood-affected people of Badra Sonaoti village of Phulpur, Bhagesar Delhi village of Karchana and Daraganj. He said that 1130 people from 15 areas are living in shelter homes and about five thousand people of the district are affected by the flood.
Himachal Pradesh Weather
A total of 38 roads were closed and 11 power supply schemes were disrupted following rains in Himachal Pradesh, the State Emergency Operation Centre (SEOC) said on Sunday evening. The local meteorological centre has issued a ‘yellow’ alert for strong winds and thundershowers at isolated places in six districts of the state on Wednesday. The weather department has predicted that the spell of rain will continue in the state till September 21. Meanwhile, intermittent rains continued in many parts of the state, with Kasauli recording the highest rainfall of 53 millimetres (mm) since Saturday evening.
