On Tuesday, a political controversy arose over Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann’s statement of ‘one nation, one husband’ statement and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) accused him of insulting widows of those killed in the Pahalgam terror attack.

Describing Maan’s remarks as abusive, Union Minister Ravneet Singh Bittu said that the Chief Minister has insulted the widows of those killed in the Pahalgam attack. He demanded an unconditional apology from the Chief Minister.
Mann made this comment in talks with reporters after presiding over the cabinet meeting.
When asked about the BJP allegedly demanding votes in the name of ‘Operation Sindoor’ for the Ludhiana West Assembly by -election, Mann said, “They are seeking votes in the name of Sindoor. He has turned the vermilion into a joke. Didn’t you see this? ”
Maan said, “If they bring vermilion to your house, will you put a vermilion in Modi’s name. Is this ‘a nation, a husband’ scheme? ”
The by -election in Ludhiana West Assembly seat of Punjab will be held on June 19 while counting will be held on June 23.
The BJP’s Punjab unit criticized Mann’s comment and said that the Chief Minister has ‘crossed all the boundaries’.
BJP spokesperson Preetpal Singh Balliawal said in a post on the social media forum ‘X’, “This operation was about terrorism, martyrdom and protecting the lives of Indians. But how will a person with zero sensitivity understand this? A person who makes fun of the Indian Army, insults the brave women, turns every holy symbol into a joke, such a person will never understand the value of vermilion. ”
Earlier in the day, when the Congress’s Punjab unit chief Amarinder Singh Raja Wading asked reporters here that the BJP was seeking votes in the name of Operation Sindoor, he said that it should not happen that the BJP should start distributing vermilion from house to house.
Wading said that otherwise, the people of BJP will have to face the anger of the women of Punjab, because women only have the right to her husband.
