New Delhi. Cold has knocked in Delhi-NCR. While the morning temperature was recorded at 8 degrees Celsius on Sunday, the heavy rain in the evening further increased the effect of cold. In such a situation, those going out of the house are being advised to wear adequate warm clothes.

According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), the minimum temperature in Delhi on Sunday morning was 8 degrees Celsius, which is two degrees below the average. With this, according to the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB), the air quality index (AQI) of the city was recorded at 276 in the ‘poor’ category.

IMD scientist Dr. Naresh Kumar said that there may be light to moderate snowfall in the Himalayas on December 8 and 9. Due to its effect, light rain is expected in Punjab and Haryana and light rain in Delhi-NCR. With the advancement of western disturbance after December 9, there is a possibility of cold wave conditions in North India. The temperature will start falling from December 10, due to which cold may increase in Rajasthan, Punjab, Haryana and Western Uttar Pradesh.

Caution is necessary

The Meteorological Department has advised people to be alert regarding cold and cold wave. Diseases can increase due to cold, so go out of the house only with warm clothes and other necessary precautions.
