It is believed that the cold will start increasing in the first week of December itself. The Meteorological Department has already said that due to the effect of La Nina this year it will be colder than the last few years. Due to the effect of La Nina the water of the Pacific Ocean becomes cold. Due to which it is more cold in India and surrounding countries. Due to the effect of La Nina, there has been more than average rainfall this monsoon season.
The Meteorological Department officially considers December and January as cold season. Whereas, people have to face cold till the end of February or longer. Even in the beginning of 2024, the cold lasted for a long time. Till the second week of April, people in North India had to face severe cold. The way the Meteorological Department has predicted severe cold this time, it seems that cold may persist for a long time in 2025 also.
