Commission's CVIGIL app will become a weapon to check electoral irregularities in Delhi elections, can be used in other ways

New Delhi. The bugle for Delhi Assembly elections 2025 has been sounded. Voting will be held in the National Capital Region on February 5, while the election results will be declared on February 8. Announcing this, the Election Commission has urged the people of Delhi to complain about election irregularities.

Smartphone will become a weapon to curb election irregularities

The Election Commissioner said that the smartphone in the hand of every voter will act as an effective weapon. Through this, any person can report irregularities occurring during election campaign. For this, the Election Commission has introduced CVIGIL app, which is available on Google Play Store and Apple App Store.

Do you know that cVIGIL app is a platform in which any citizen can file/upload complaints of violation of election code of conduct along with evidence/photo-video, and the Commission aims to resolve these complaints within 100 minutes. CVIGIL App: How to use?

The CVIGIL app launched by the Election Commission is very easy to use.

1. Download the app

Android users can download it from Google Play Store and iOS users from App Store.

2. Registration Process

After downloading the app, the voter will have to fill information related to name, address and assembly.

3. File a complaint

Select the correct option from the options available on the homepage of the app. Upload evidence of the error (photos, video, audio).

4. Fast action

An assurance has been given to take action within 100 hours of filing the complaint. The complaint will be forwarded to the Regional Magistrate and necessary steps will be taken.

What issues can I complain about?

Through the CVIGIL app, you can file complaints on the following issues: Violation of code of conduct in election campaign. Disturbance at the polling booth. Activities like luring voters.

Election Commission’s message

The Election Commissioner has appealed to the public to play the role of an informed citizen and use this app properly. Action will be taken on every complaint to keep the electoral process fair and transparent.

CVIGIL app will act as an effective bridge between the public and the administration in the Delhi Assembly Elections 2025. This step is being considered a big effort towards conducting fair elections.
