The Government of India has once again reduced the price of essential medicines by giving great relief to the common people. The National Pharmaceutical Pricing Authority (NPPA) has reduced the price of 37 drugs very important by 10 to 15 percent. The drugs that have been cut in the price are drugs related to fever, pain, heart disease, diabetes, infection and vitamin needs. These drugs are used daily by millions of patients in the country.
NPPA cut the price of these drugs
Pain and fever: A combination tablet of Ekloophens, Paracetamol and Tripsin Chimotripsin will now be ₹ 13 for Dr. Reddy Laborizer and ₹ 15.01 for Cadila Pharmaceuticals.
Vitamin: Vitamin D (cholecalciferol) drops and diclofenac injections have been priced at ₹ 31.77 per millilitors. In addition, prices of cholesterol and allergic-esthema drugs have also been limited.
Diabetes: Combinations like Empagliflose, Citagliptin, and Metformin have been priced at ₹ 16.50 per tablet, which is very important for patients with type 2 diabetes.
Heart disease: Drugs with a combination of atorvastatin 40 mg and clopidogrell 75 Mg will now be available at ₹ 25.61 per tablet.
Why did the government take these steps
For the last few years, the price of medicines has been continuously increasing. This rising prices are directly affecting those patients who cannot without these medicines in their life’s life. Given this situation, the government has reduced the price of medicines. This move, taken by the National Pharmaceutical Pricing Authority (NPPA), will provide great relief to poor class people and middle class people.
