The metro network has expanded 3 times in the last 10 years. In 2014, the metro rail network in India was 248 kilometers, which has now increased to 1000 kilometers. Today, more than 1 crore passengers travel by metro every day, which is more than 2.5 times compared to 28 lakh passengers in 2014. Metro trains today travel a total of 2.75 lakh kilometers per day, which is 3 times the daily distance of 86 thousand kilometers a decade ago.
Namo Bharat Train from Delhi to Meerut
Not only in the case of Metro, but apart from this, a lot has been done in the matter of Railways also. PM Modi will inaugurate the first section of the fourth phase of the Metro in Delhi today, besides inaugurating the 13 km long section of the Delhi-Ghaziabad-Meerut Namo Bharat Corridor between Sahibabad and New Ashok Nagar. Passenger operations on this route will start from 5 pm on Sunday and trains will be available at an interval of 15 minutes. The fare from New Ashok Nagar station to Meerut South is Rs 150 for standard coach and Rs 225 for premium coach.
