Congress accused the Election Commission of delaying the results, the Commission responded and called the allegations baseless.

New Delhi. In the results of Haryana Assembly Elections 2024, Bharatiya Janata Party seems to be moving towards victory for the third consecutive time. Meanwhile, Congress accused the Election Commission of updating the results late, leading to a political controversy. However, the Election Commission termed these allegations of Congress as baseless and gave a strong reaction.

Election Commission’s response

The Election Commission said in its statement, “The allegations made by the Congress are baseless and there is no evidence to prove them. “There is no concrete evidence of delay in counting of votes in any constituency of Haryana or Jammu and Kashmir,” the memorandum said. The Commission also clarified that the counting process is being conducted with complete transparency and the results are being updated every five minutes.

Election Commission gave advice to Congress

The Election Commission reprimanded the Congress, saying that on an average 25 rounds of counting of votes are taking place in every constituency, and its information is being updated from time to time. Accusing the Congress, the Commission said, “The statements made by you are irresponsible and baseless. “An attempt is being made to question the credibility of the vote counting process through such baseless allegations, which we categorically reject.”

Congress allegations

Congress had alleged that there is a delay in updating the results of Haryana Assembly elections on the Election Commission website. Congress general secretary Jairam Ramesh said, “We are going to file a memorandum with the Election Commission in the next few minutes. “We have questions about the results, and we hope the Election Commission will answer them.”

Ramesh further said, “So far the results of 10-11 rounds have come, but only 4-5 rounds of results are being shown on the Election Commission website. “This could be an attempt to put pressure on the administration.” He also alleged that BJP is trying to influence the administration on the basis of old and misleading trends.

allegations on social media

Earlier, Jairam Ramesh had also raised questions on the Election Commission through a post on X. He said, “As happened in the Lok Sabha elections, in Haryana too we are seeing a delay in updating the results on the Election Commission website. Is BJP putting pressure on the electoral process through misleading trends?”
