CEC meeting will be held again after 7 hours of sub-committee meeting
New Delhi: While BJP’s first list for Haryana assembly elections has been released, Congress’ list is still awaited. Haryana Congress’ sub-committee meeting lasted for about seven hours on Thursday. The sub-committee may meet again on Friday to finalize the names of the candidates. According to sources, Congress is also reconsidering the 66 seats that have already been finalized.
CEC meeting may be held on Friday
According to sources, the CEC meeting can also be held on Friday evening. It is being said that there will be discussions about alliance with Aam Aadmi Party and tickets to some MPs. Even after the sub-committee meeting, the tussle continues on many seats. A CEC meeting can be held to find a solution to this.
There is also discussion about alliance with AAP
At the same time, Congress held intensive discussions on Thursday to explore the possibility of an alliance with the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) for the Haryana Assembly elections. Some party leaders have objected to the alliance with AAP. The Congress sub-committee for Haryana consulted with many senior leaders. The sub-committee includes leaders like state AICC in-charge Deepak Babaria, T.S.Singhdev and Ajay Maken. While some leaders are in favor of an alliance with AAP to prevent division of votes, others have objected to it.
Many leaders of the state are against the alliance with AAP
Congress leader Captain Ajay Singh Yadav, when asked about the Congress-AAP alliance talks for the 2024 Haryana elections, said, “AAP has no base in Haryana. I think why should we give them space there? But if there is any compulsion then it is for the high command to decide whether they want to tie up with them in other states as well or not. AAP cannot cause any harm to the Congress. Why should AAP be allowed to enter Haryana.
Congress leader and Rajya Sabha member Randeep Surjewala said, “I do not need to comment, there is a process within the party, the party’s screening committee chairman and special committee are doing their work. Whatever we had to say, we told them. Speaking further would be against the party discipline. Let us tell you that voting will be held on October 5 for 90 assembly seats in Haryana and counting of votes will be done on October 8.
