The Congress party may make some significant amendments to its constitution in the AICC session to be held in April. According to party sources, a resolution can be passed in this session, under which the Congress will form a new ‘Election Management Committee’. The aim of this committee will be to take decisions on electoral strategy and election issues.
Electoral decision process
After the Congress’s most powerful unit or Decision Making Body i.e. Congress Executive Committee (CWC), now the Election Management Committee will also be a powerful committee. The main task of this committee is to prepare electoral strategies, decide the electoral negative and take all the important decisions related to the election, in which decisions related to the alliance will also be taken. There is no provision of any such committee in the constitution of the Congress party, so the party will pass its proposal to amend its constitution in the AICC session to be held in April.
These leaders will get a big responsibility
Senior and experienced leaders of the party will be given important responsibilities in this new Election Management Committee. Especially those leaders will get a place in this committee who have good experience in electoral politics. Discussion has started inside the party from now on who will be the convenor of this committee and who can get a big responsibility.
According to sources, senior Congress leader Mukul Wasnik is likely to be made the convenor of this committee. At the same time, there is talk of Ashok Gehlot getting big responsibility in this committee. Election strategies can be created under his leadership and the party’s electoral policy can be strengthened.
Priyanka Gandhi’s name is also in the discussion
Some Congress leaders want Priyanka Gandhi Vadra to lead this committee, but no final decision has been taken yet.
