Chidambaram wrote on X, ‘Honorable Prime Minister and Union Minister continuously say that he has given more money to Tamil Nadu in 2014-24 than 2004-14. For example, the Hon’ble Prime Minister said that his government has given seven times more money for railway projects in Tamil Nadu than before. Ask the first year student of economics. He will tell you that ‘economic metric’ will always be more than previous years. The size of GDP is now larger than before. The size of the Union Budget is larger every year than the previous year. The total expenditure of the government is larger every year than the previous year. You are one year older than the previous year. In the context of ‘number’, the number will be large, but is it more in the ratio of GDP or in terms of total expenditure ratio? ‘
