New Delhi. Contrary to Congress MP Rahul Gandhi’s election promise of ‘knock-knock-knock’, now his party’s national president Mallikarjun Kharge has advised its leaders and Congress ruled states to promise the public only those things which they can fulfill otherwise. The government will face an economic crisis. In fact, while discussing the manifesto of Congress in Maharashtra elections, Kharge mentioned five guarantees given by the Congress government in Karnataka. Kharge told the party leaders that if they give guarantees for schemes without keeping the budget in mind, the government may go towards bankruptcy.
On one hand, the face of Congress, Rahul Gandhi himself, promises to the people during the elections that if Congress forms the government, then there will be a lot of money in people’s bank accounts under various schemes, and on the other hand, now the National President is giving some other advice. Let us tell you that the Congress government of Himachal had also given many guarantees before the elections, but at present the Himachal government is facing a financial crisis. Last month, the government struggled to pay salaries to state government employees and pension to former employees, but after waiting for several days the money came into their accounts.
On the other hand, it is also being discussed that the Siddaramaiah government of Karnataka is also burdened with financial burden while trying to fulfill its guarantees. It is being said that if the Karnataka government fulfills the five guarantees of the election manifesto, then the revenue deficit of the government will increase from Rs 60 thousand crore to Rs 1 lakh 14 thousand crore. At the same time, Karnataka Deputy CM DK Shivakumar had refused to give money for new development works, saying that excessive money would be spent in fulfilling old promises.
