Amid tension from the central government, the Tamil Nadu government has changed ₹ ₹ to ₹ in Tamil language in the state budget. What did Uday Kumar say Dharmalingam?

Professor Uday Kumar Dharmalingam, Professor of IIT Guwahati, who designed the symbol of Indian rupee, said- “I do not have complete information about the reasons behind this symbol change, possibly the state government has its own ways, thoughts and reasons to change the change. I designed it 15 years ago when the then central government held a competition and I won it, after which it was used and it is being used and it is being used in a wider.”

Did not think that this kind of debate would happen- Dharmalingam

Professor Udaya Kumar Dharmalingam further said- “I am really happy due to being a designer of the rupee symbol, but I never thought that there would be such a debate. He just took such a turn and now there is a lot of concerns about the symbol.”
