CPI General Secretary D Raja on Monday demanded an impartial inquiry into an Air India passenger aircraft accident in Ahmedabad and questioned whether the accident aircraft maintenance failure, airport mismanagement or runway problems.
D Raja said, “What happened in Ahmedabad was a tragic event related to Air India. Dreamliner and Air India are considered pride of the whole country. How can such an accident happen? Whether there was any failure in the maintenance of the aircraft, airport or runway management? We do not yet know.”
He said, “The government has ordered a high -level inquiry, and an objective investigation should be done in that investigation to find out whether it was a technical problem or there was any failure in ground maintenance.”
Earlier in the day, a team from Boeing and a Air India Bureau of Bureau of Investigation (AAIB) reached Ahmedabad to inspect the Air India aircraft accident site.
Investigations are underway to find out the cause of the tragic incident on 12 June.
